THE STORY BEHIND KINÉTOSCOPE.
This is the story of William Dickson (1860).
A creative soul with great passion for photography that became one of the founding fathers of modern cinematography.
His invention, the KINETOSCOPE, was patented by Thomas A. Edison in 1891.
Inside, a strip of film was passed rapidly between a lens and an electric light bulb while the viewer peered through a peephole.
Behind the peephole was a spinning wheel with a narrow slit that acted as a shutter, permitting a momentary view of each of the 46 frames passing in front of the shutter every second.
The result was a lifelike representation of persons and objects in motion.
Once upon a time, there was a woman inspired by the beauty of film:
The light that paints.
The music that always accompanies.
Hey there! My name is Inés Quintanar Cárdenas and I am the founder of Kinétoscope Media Productions. After years working in the industry as a film editor and photographer in Madrid and Stockholm, I decided it was about time to create something bigger than myself.
Something that would not only bring me happiness and gratification, but that would also transfer all those great feelings to everyone around me.
Kinétoscope is the result of years of hard work, failures, tweaks, some great successes, but most importantly: a lot of love, creativity and passion for storytelling in general and film in particular.
Lucky me, I am not alone on this quest.
Amazing PR managers, freelance filmmakers, scriptwriters, and video editors accompany me on this journey, that promises to be one hell of a ride :)
Kinétoscope takes pride in being a very personal company.
Not only do we take great care of the details and needs of every individual, we also believe that human relationships are key in order to strive towards success.
Therefore, we always ensure a human, caring and close relationships with all of our partners and clients.
All of this, stirred with lots of creativity and impeccable professionalism.
This is our mantra.
This is Kinéstoscope.
